We recently celebrated the soon to be arrival of my third baby girl, Camille Bailee Williams, by having a “sprinkle” with our closest family and friends. If you aren’t sure what a sprinkle is, it’s just a small shower that you typically have when you already have multiple children or you just had a child not too long ago and still have most of the essentials for a baby. With this being my third child (3rd daughter at that) AND I just had my last child only a year and a half ago we really didn’t need much. But this sprinkle wasn’t to receive gifts, it was truly just to celebrate the new life that’s about to enter this world with our loved ones. I know according to some old school standards having a baby shower for every kid you have could be considered tacky, but I believe every child is worth celebrating. My husband and I love to entertain at our home as well so we use any excuse to throw a party, ha! We simply just asked people to bring either a box of diapers, wipes, or a gift card. But of course we had family and friends who just couldn’t help themselves and they still bought our baby girl clothes and all the above. We now have diapers to last her for quite some time, amongst many other things. The icing on the cake was my family surprised me with a double stroller, which was really the only big purchase we would’ve had to make for this transition to having a toddler and a newborn. I already know we have a great village between our family, friends, and church family, but events like this always leave me so extremely grateful for the people in our lives. We are truly blessed.
Now on to the actual sprinkle details…
Venue:
For a while I was stuck on having it at a restaurant or outside of our home somewhere. I even looked in to our neighborhood clubhouse. I figured that having it outside of our home would help me keep it very simple and I wouldn’t have to deal with the cleanup. With it being a small intimate shower I was really trying my hardest not to go overboard. If you know me personally, you know that’s extremely hard for me. My middle name is extra lol! But after calling dozens of restaurants and seeing it would actually be even more expensive to have it there due to our guest count, we came to the conclusion that having it our home was the best option. I just gave myself a budget and TRIED not to go over it. I may or may not have been successful at that, hehe! But my husband and I love entertaining at our home. I don’t know who we thought we were kidding by thinking we would have it any other place. Typically, when we entertain at our home we go all out and rent tents, tables, and chairs for the backyard and all. But due to the weather and once again, us wanting to keep it small we just kept everything inside. I had one faithful follower (if you’re reading this you know who you are ha!) ask how I got my house so clean before hosting the event being pregnant and having other children. Thank God for my husband and my family! My grandma, mom, and sister drove in the night before to help clean and prep for the next day. We were all literally up until like 1am getting things together the night before.
Décor:
When entertaining at my home I typically focus on 3 areas on the inside. That’s my formal dining, the kitchen island, and our stairs. I always use my formal dining room for the sweets table setup because it’s right when you enter my house from the front door. So that’s where I want to make the biggest statement. I like to wow people right as they enter. (Can you tell how much I’m to this entertaining/hosting stuff ha!) I hardly hire an actual planner just because I really enjoy doing this stuff on my own. Anyway, the only vendor I brought in to help with décor was Jenn Arches. I’ve been using her for almost half a decade now, since my engagement. She came in and did all the balloon work. I love that I’m able to send her random pictures and explain my vision to her and she executes it perfectly. I told her I wanted the colors to be soft pinks, rose gold, and ivory. With a lot of flowers and greenery included throughout the décor. I also wanted to take this opportunity to reveal baby girl’s name since we hadn’t yet. I kept thinking about how we could do that. I eventually came up with the idea of having her name as the focal point of the sweets table setup by having it on the wall in huge balloon letters. It turned out so great!
I always find a way to incorporate balloons on my staircase because it makes such a statement. And as far as the kitchen island, that’s where I always have the food displayed. I like to incorporate some type of simple décor on the kitchen island with the food as well so we went with a table cover, candles, and simple balloon bouquets to surround the food.
Menu:
For this event I went with a brunch styled menu. I figured a brunch is more casual than an afternoon or evening event where you have to provide a full course meal. The only down side to a brunch is I figured the event would have to start a little earlier. So shoutout to all my friends and family that pushed through and made it to an 11am start time on a Saturday haha! We served chicken and waffles from The Breakfast Klub. If live in the Houston area you know that was a HIT! My family also cooked grits, eggs, bacon, and made fruit trays. I have to shoutout my dear friend Natalie who made this awesome punch as well. I’m not sure how she made it but it went quick!
Sweets:
I used my faithful local baker, The Baking Cup. I’ve been using her for years as well. Just like with Jenn Arches, I’m able to send Estrella from The Baking Cup pictures of what I want and she executes it perfectly. I love how all my vendor’s work always flows together so seamlessly as well. I wanted to stick with the soft pinks, rose golds, ivory, and flowers/greenery throughout my sweets as well. But for the sweets we used fresh flowers which made everything just absolutely stunning! I went with a 3 tiered “naked” cake, cake pops, cookies, and cupcakes. How gorgeous did all these sweets turn out. Even better they aren’t just pretty, but taste so good as well.
Party Favors:
Creations by Lorna Prints and More did our party favors. We went with her homemade pecan candy that is DELICIOUS. Also, we did mini water bottles that guest could take with them on their way out to wash down the pecan candy!
Outfit Details:
If you read my maternity pics blog, you know I use a local seamstress here in Houston to make most of my gowns for an extremely affordable price. I used the same guy for my shower dress. I absolutely loved how it turned out. Email me for his contact info. Jenn Arches actually made my flower belt I wore with my dress for me. Although she specializes in balloons, she’s very crafty so I asked her was that something she thinks she could do and she made it happen. My earrings are from Sam Moon. My husband’s blazer is from Asos. My girl’s shirts were also made by Creations by Lorna. Their boots are from Old Navy.
All in all it was just a wonderful event. I’m so so glad we decided to do it and I’m so grateful I was physically able to endure it. I waited really late in my pregnancy to have my shower. 37 weeks pregnant to be exact, which was very risky. The two weeks leading up to the shower I wasn’t even sure if baby girl would hang in my womb long enough for us to have it. But the Lord heard my prayers and I got through it. Now it’s truly countdown until Baby Camille Bailee arrives. Thank you all for coming along this journey with me. From the time I announced my pregnancy until now you guys have just been overwhelming sweet. I truly appreciate it. And that’s why I continue to try and share a lot of the moments like these with you all leading up to having her.

I saw my shoutout! Ha! 🙂 (I’m MrsJeter.) Everything came out beautifully! Thank God for reliable family who are always willing to pitch in and lend a hand. Great theme on the food – who doesn’t love brunch, and especially chicken and waffles! I love the naked cake trend because it keeps them from getting too sweet with too much frosting. And those cookies are SO precious. I also appreciate when a favor is something you can use up like food/candy/mints, because then it’s not necessarily hanging around your house forever unless you want it to be. Love love LOVE the flower belt on your dress – beautiful touch. Sending you best wishes for a safe and healthy delivery for both you and baby Camille!
